Municipal WasteLandfills and waste disposal in Alberta Most Alberta muncipal solid waste is landfilled. Developing a new landfill is costly and time consuming, but a range of waste management alternatives are available. A modern sanitary landfill can maintain clean groundwater, clean air and meet aesthetic standards. As competition for space increases, difficulties in siting and costs also increase. |
