CRD Materials and Markets

Construction, Renovation and Demolition activities consume and produce significant quantities of concrete, asphalt, masonry, wood, metals, roofing materials, drywall, glass, cardboard and other common materials.  The following links provide useful information on reducing, reusing and recycling these materials on your next project.

    Discusses the opportunities for marketing construction, renovation and demolition (CRD) materials in Alberta.  It provides an updated list of Alberta CRD material recyclers, and examines market profiles, including trends and issues, for concrete/asphalt/brick/mortar, wood wastes, wallboard and other building materials.
     
  • Market Development Study for Recycled Aggregate Products
    (Thurber Engineering, 2001)
    Explores the potential use of aggregates, the technical issues that impact on the use of recycled aggregates, and identifies measures that could be taken to increase the use of recycled aggregates in Alberta.  In addition, it discusses the use of recycled aggregates in other jurisdictions.
