The Northern East Slopes Sustainability Strategy

Designed to support sustainable development in the northern east slopes region of Alberta by providing strategic direction for natural resource and environmental management, the strategy takes the region's environmental, economic and community values into account.

The strategy will help government, industry and Albertans in effective and efficient planning to address the cumulative effects of human activity in the northern east slopes.

Basis for the strategy are the May 2003 recommendations of a regional steering group appointed by the Minister of Environment. These recommendations emerged from extensive stakeholder consultation within the region.
